The first bath bombs
Here are some fun facts about our natural Australian bath bombs for you to enjoy.
It was at this point he discovered just how beneficial oils are to our skin. This was the same time in which we also realized how relaxing and soothing certain smells are to our mind and body. So the concept of aromatherapy was born.
Applying this concept, fizzy bath bombs were created over 20 years ago by Mo Constantine, the co-founder of Lush. She was looking for an alternative for the slimy bubble baths everyone was used to.
Bath bombs made things more interesting and provided increased therapeutic properties. It was actually an accident that bath bombs were created. So by sheer luck, a unique and beneficial product was born, in the form of the bath bomb. Her ultimate goal was to make people feel relaxed and happy.
What makes a bath bomb fizz?
Bath bombs are just the best after a long, boring day at work, aren’t they? It’s so easy to run a bath and just chuck one in, sit back and wait for the glorious smells and colours to take over. If you’re inquisitive like me, you may have asked yourself before, what makes them fizz?
They all contain sodium bicarbonate and citric acid, which causes the ‘fizz’. When these ingredients are dry, they don’t react. But when they get wet, the citric acid and sodium bicarb dissolve and react with one another, forming sodium citrate and carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide is the thing that bubbles and breaks the bath bomb up.
Bath Bomb Benefits
Bath Bombs are good for your skin
A bath bomb adds emollients and softeners to your bath’s water that moisturize and indulge your skin. No matter what your skin type, the beneficial ingredients in bath bombs leave it soft, supple, and silky. Yes, it’ll cleanse your skin, but the ingredients inside will also pamper and soothe it. Your skin will feel velvety, sinuous, and youthful.
Our Bath Bombs Are All Natural And Vegan Friendly
Unlike other bath products that rely on a chemical makeup, bath bombs are all-natural, chemical free bath time treats. That means there are no harsh irritants that could irritate your skin. Instead, they’re protective and pacifying with amazing skin softening properties. Much better than the old bubble bath which causes irritation for some kids…much more colourful too!
Bath Bombs Have Healing Properties
Almost all bath bombs contain sodium bicarbonate and citric acid. These two ingredients combine to create that fizzing sensation bath bombs are famous for. More than that, though, they clean, deodorize, and repair skin, and strengthen blood vessels. These two main ingredients leave you with healthier, younger looking skin. You’ll love the rejuvenating enzymes and the healthy, glowing skin you’ll have as the result of a bath bomb indulgence.
